Item Lists

Item lists provide a tabular multi-page format for displaying result sets, and enable you to modify the display view with respect to:

Item lists containing five or fewer items have empty items-per-page tool bars.

Setting the Number of Items to Display

The items-per-page tool bar displays the current number of items listed per result page, and enables you to choose among several discrete values. Changing the number of items-per-page results in the re-display and possible repositioning of the result page, as well as recalculating the page navigation tool's current page and totals pages values.

To set the number of items-per-page, select the number of items-per-page that you want to appear from the View drop-down list.

Navigating Across Pages

The page navigation tool enables you to navigate among the pages of a multi-page item list, and displays both the current page and the total number of pages in the item list. The page navigation tool appears whenever the total number of items in the item list exceeds the value specified by the View drop-down list.

To navigate to a specific page in a multi-page list, select the number of that page from the Page drop-down list.

To navigate to the next or previous page in a multi-page list, click the next or previous arrow button.

Sorting Columns

If one of the column headings in an item list includes an up or down-pointing yellow arrow (shown above in the Invoice Date heading), the list can be sorted by any of the columns.

Item lists support sorting on only one column at any one time; that is, you cannot explicitly sort the result set by column abc within column def, and so forth. The tab or task that produces the item list determines the initial sort order.

If you want to sort by a different column, simply click that column heading.

To change the sort order, click the column heading again.
